It happened around 7:30 a.m. on April 11, when officers responded to a report of a stolen car in the 700 block of North 10th Street, city police wrote in a release.

They found the suspect vehicle a few blocks away on Early Street and signaled for the driver to pull over, but the car backed into the police vehicle before taking off, officials said.

The suspects hit another occupied police car on the 1400 block of Gordon Street and continued to flee, coming to a stop on Warren Street, according to the release. They fled on foot and were seen going into a residence back on Gordon Street, police said.

There, two "juveniles" were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, and related counts, authorities wrote. Their identities were not reported.

Two officers who were injured during the incident were treated at an area hospital and released later in the day, police added.
